Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress, best known for her role in the movies Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Kun..! The actress was initially famous for her 1980s role in Tezaab and Tezaab, which she co-starred along with veteran actor Anil Koopor. The next film she appeared in was Dil where she starred alongside Aamir. Early on, as a girl growing up in Mumbai's middle-class, she began to learn how to dance. She started acting when young and fought through a couple of years since the majority of her first films were flops. In the end, she was successful with Indian film and climbed to the very top. She took a break from acting due to her marriage, before going back to the entertainment industry. She was a key character in Gulaab Gang, a film focused on women's struggles in India. Dixit is nominated to win 15 Filmfare Awards, out of which she was awarded eight. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honour in India. Her work in the field of social service is popular.
